DUBUQUE - Every summer, the AYSO region in Dubuque organizes a soccer tournament for all AYSO soccer regions in the area. Teams from Dubuque, Davenport, The Amanas, Cedar Rapids, and other cities in Eastern Iowa participate in the tournament. The Dubuque tournament is a great opportunity for players that have never been to a soccer tournament, because it is for balanced teams, and it's close!
Two teams from our AYSO region went up to Dubuque to participate in the tournament on June 24th and 25th. U10 girls team the Tough Tigers with coach Brian D. Cohen and U12 girls team the Twisters with coach Henk Rook. The Tough Tigers as well as the Twisters had a great tournament. Both teams had shirts designed specially for the tournament.

Tough Tigers (U10 Girls)
The Tough Tigers won the U10 Girls Championship. They scored 24 goals in 4 matches while only giving up 2.
The Tough Tigers defeated the Amana Bratz 4-0 in the championship match. Coach Brian D. Cohen felt…“all the girls on this team contributed, playing spectacular defense and working together to win this championship. They had a lot of fun!”
