AYSO East Central Iowa - Youth Soccer for Cedar Rapids, Marion, Mount Vernon

About Us

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) has been the leader in establishing groundbreaking youth soccer programs in the United States. Over the years, AYSO has created many valuable programs and concepts. Most notably, AYSO revolutionized youth sports with its "Everyone Plays" and "Balanced Teams" philosophies. In AYSO, each child who registers is guaranteed to play at least half of every game. To help create evenly matched games, all AYSO players are placed on new or "balanced" teams each year. These decisions are made based on each player's skill level and the overall ability of the team.

Today, AYSO has more than 50,000 teams and more than 650,000 players. AYSO is divided into sections, the sections into areas, and the areas into regions. We are AYSO Region 1112, part of area E in section 6. We are serving East Central Iowa.

In AYSO Region 1112, we have more than 1300 players on 141 teams, 49% boys and 51% girls. We have currently players from Cedar Rapids, Marion, Mount Vernon, Robins, Hiawatha, Anamosa, Central City, Lisbon, Toddville, Center Point, Palo, Olin, Shellsburg, Hopkinton, Alburnett, Coggon, Monticello, Swisher, Urbana, Ely, and Vinton.

Kids Zone

Some youth sports have seen a rise in negative sideline behavior by parents, spectators, coaches, and others. To combat this trend AYSO has developed the Kids Zone program, an educational initiative and set of behavioral standards for the sidelines. Check out the Kids Zone page for more details.
